Trust & safety
CareerID is designed around individual ownership, consent-based sharing, and responsible AI. Here is how that works in practice.
Individual ownership
Career data in CareerID belongs to the individual — not their employer, not CareerID. Individuals control what is visible in each view and can revoke access at any time.
Consent-based sharing
Nothing is shared without explicit consent. Consent grants are scoped (to a specific organisation), time-limited, and revocable. The employer view is never accessible without an active consent grant.
Responsible AI
AI assists — it never decides. AI-generated content is always labelled, always derived from documented evidence, and never used to make automated decisions about individuals. Human oversight applies throughout.
- No inference of protected characteristics
- No black-box scoring
- No automated shortlisting or rejection
- All AI summaries are editable by the individual
Standards alignment
- Designed in alignment with the EU AI Act (2024/1689)
- ESCO-aligned skill taxonomy (European Skills Classification)
- GDPR-compliant consent and data portability
- ISO 30414 — Human Capital Reporting
- Designed in alignment with the UK Digital Identity & Attributes Trust Framework
“Designed in alignment with” means our architecture reflects these standards. We do not claim certification or approval from any standards body.
Fairness by design
Skills-first architecture is inherently more equitable than keyword-matching or CV screening. CareerID makes skills visible regardless of educational background, career path, or employment history.
- Career breaks, caring, and volunteering are treated as real experience
- Non-linear careers are supported, not penalised
- No inference of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, or any protected characteristic
